Upon Finishing...

What is sleep?

I have just completed the RPM Challenge for the second year in a row (I don't know if I'm bragging or not)... The album title is "In The Event Of Moon Disaster", by Zanois. It's ten songs of pure spaceitude (apparently I'm not too tired to coin a term). It's a concept album about the Apollo 11 mission, from start to finish. You can buy it from me starting Sunday.

I have just completed another song. This will probably be the last song you hear until the release of "In The Event of Moon Disaster". It is called Malfunction and you can listen to it at:

Flicksong

Howdy, from the land of too much time spent recording and too little time spent sleeping! I have a new song, entitled "Why Anyone Would", and you can hear it at http://www.virb.com/zanois. I also created a Flickr account, and I've put over 100 photos on there for now. My user name is Zanois. I'd give you a link to my page, but I'm not entirely sure how Flickr works yet, so I didn't bother trying to figure that out.

So that's it for now!

NAME CHANGE

This is the only post I have time for now.
I have changed the band name for legal and other reasons. We/I are/am now officially called "Zanois"...

I'll give you all a couple days to get used to that before I change this blog's address to http://www.zanois.blogspot.com

Don't click there!

Four Covers of the...Not Apocalypse

Howdy, everybody!
So yeah, those are the four covers (of which you receive all and can choose from!) for the upcoming "In The Event Of Moon Disaster", which I have been working (if I may use my own coined term twice) semi-vigorously on. The second song shall be nearing complete-ness by the end of today, and the third and fourth sometime this weekend. I don't know much about the third and fourth yet, but the second is entitled "ChatterTeeth." and features Jessica from My Imaginary Life on back-up vocals, as well as...somebody who has yet to be decided on cello. Probably Eli or Kyle. Maybe I won't do cello, I don't know, we'll have to see.

Homonyms Are Allowed on Planes

No blog updates in eight days because I've been sick. My throat is more irritated than a...baby's...butt...

I hope I never have to use that analogy ever again.

I'm extremely behind on the RPM Challenge, still only one song and it's 13 days in. Hopefully I can at least get some instrumental stuff done today, but I can't do any vocal parts... I am doing a little bit of collaboration with My Imaginary Life. I'm playing a banjo part for her song "All My Life," and she's going to do some guest vocal-age on a song called "Chatter Teeth".

I'll also be making a Making-Of (Yay, redundancy!) video for the RPM Challenge.

So that's it for now,

Monkey Head

I've been trying to get the same information across on three blogs lately (RPM, this, Virb) as well as keep people on MySpace updated, but instead, I found a way to kill two...blogs...with one...RSS feed.

I just linked the RSS feed from this blog to the one at my Virb, so you only have to check one of those. But you should still look at both. Speaking of my Virb, check out the first track from my album "In The Event of Moon Disaster" there. It's called "Tranquility Base?"

VirbPM

Alright, so this is the only update I have time for now. Working semi-vigorously on "In The Event Of Moon Disaster", my new record, recording it entirely during the month of February. The first song is done, and can be found at my new Virb account:

http://www.virb.com/zanenoises

You can also find the album art and behind-the-scenes photos there, as well as blog updates, shows, and such. Also check out my RPM Challenge page for more of the same, as well as details on what RPM actually is:

Deja Wildebeest

I doubt anyone will actually get that blog title, but it was worth a shot.

I've decided to start doing a "TOP 5 RECORDS" of every month from now on, so without that much ado...

3. The Mars Volta - "The Bedlam In Goliath"
2. Kimya Dawson (and Various Artists) - "Juno"
1. Radiohead - "In Rainbows"

January was such a musically terrible month, it doesn't even deserve (or have) a top five record list, and one is certainly not welcome 'round these...blog.
